Manny Barros, Owner, Bass River Tennis Club Manny, born and was raised in Cambridge, is the son of a Portuguese immigrants. He is a 1976 graduate of Boston College. Manny is a real estate developer, and owns other businesses including a liquor store and a family restaurant. Manny combined his business acumen and lifelong love of tennis when he purchased the Bass River Tennis Club in May of 2007. Not to rest on his laurels, Manny then assumed the contract to run the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club. This unique arrangement gives tennis enthusiasts the opportunity to play year round tennis on indoor hard courts and outdoor clay courts. You can also get in a round of golf. Manny’s newest restaurant opened in October of 2008 at Beverly Golf and Tennis when Café Diciannove opened to the public. Manny strives to provide the highest quality staff, facilities and program offerings to the Bass River membership. |

| Bass River Tennis Club is committed to offering social, instructional and competitive tennis to the surrounding community in a first-class facility run by people who are dedicated to ensuring that each Bass River Tennis Club experience is a positive one. There are three groups of stakeholders who have goals relating to our mission. Customers: The goal is to provide a club for members, their guests, and fee paying tennis players to play, learn and improve their game of tennis. Safety and facility cleanliness is always a priority. We expect an atmosphere of friendliness and open communication. We want our customers to receive value for the money they spend. Employees: The goal is to provide a place to work that is safe, comfortable and professionally challenging. BRTC employees should feel that they are fairly compensated. Employees are expected to have a service orientation and are expected to demonstrate initiative and a view of the business as a whole. The environment should reflect a feeling of mutual respect and teamwork. Owner: The goal is to run a profitable business that offers the service of tennis playing to the community. The business will also strive to give back to the community and to explore ways to offer tennis to the disadvantaged community.
